WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE NEW BIOPLASTIC (PLANT BASED) AND INJECTION MOULDED RECORDS I AM HEARING ABOUT?

In the short time since NAKED launched there have been some incredible new innovations in eco-friendly vinyl. Most notably Evolution Music in the UK have recently created the World's first bioplastic records and Green Vinyl Records in the Netherlands have created a new injection moulding based manufacturing process which creates non-toxic recyclable records using very low power consumption (estimated to be 90% less than traditional steam based pressing). We have researched these new innovations, met the people behind them, listened to prototype records and remain very excited to see what comes next.

Deepgrooves in the Netherlands recognised as 'the greenest vinyl pressing plant in the World' presses NAKED's non-toxic and recyclable records at it's carbon neutral pressing plant. Deepgrooves have lead the way in sustainability in the vinyl industry, are doing an awesome job for us and we expect to keep working with them long into the future.

But that won't stop us from keeping a close eye on all potential new suppliers to ensure that we will always provide the most sustainable and best sounding vinyl records on the planet. For this reason we are excited to announce that we will be pressing NAKED's 5th release 'The Five Ghosts' at Green Vinyl Records on their new ultra low energy vinyl pressing machine. 'The Five Ghosts' will be one of the very first records to be commercially pressed by GVR.  And we'll also be first in line when Evolution's bioplastic vinyl has been fully tested for sound quality and is commercially available (beta testing of the Evolution bioplastic vinyl has already taken place at Deepgrooves).

Watch this space, things are getting exciting!
